Types of Virtual Visits
Video Visit Through FollowMyHealth
You can receive care from your health care provider through a video call to discuss any issues face-to-face. Video Visits occur via webcam through your FollowMyHealth account. Video Visits use secure video technology developed for medical care. Your Video Visit is also not recorded. After the visit, you will receive a secure message with a summary of your care instructions.
Video Visit Without FollowMyHealth
You can still receive a video visit without a FollowMyHealth account. Once you are scheduled for an appointment, you will receive a text message with a link to your secure visit. You and your health care provider will be able to see and hear each other through video chat.
Phone Visit
Phone visits are a good fit for those that do not have access to internet/camera/microphones. Your health care provider will call you at your scheduled time and the appointment will be conducted over the phone.
How Does a Virtual Visit Work?
Schedule an Appointment
Give any of our seven offices a call like you normally would to schedule an appointment. A staff member will help schedule you for the type of appointment that best fits your needs. You can also request appointments through your FollowMyHealth account.
The Day of Your Appointment
Before your appointment, a staff member will call you. They will ask the same questions as when you normally check in at our office (medication history, check insurance, symptoms, etc.). Depending on the type of appointment you are scheduled for, they may give you further instructions. Your care provider will then start the visit (phone call or video).
Insurance Coverage
Phone and video visits are billed to your insurance just like a regular office visit. Some insurances limit the type of visit they will cover, please call your insurance provider to confirm coverage. Behavioral Health Virtual Visits
Group Therapy Sessions Now Available Virtually
One-On-One Visits
Our mental health team are seeing patients in-office and virtually. A virtual behavioral health visit works just like any other healthcare visit. Your visit can be done over the phone or over video chat.
Anxiety Group Sessions
This group session is designed for SICHC patients that have previously struggled with anxiety, have an increase in their anxiety, or have developed new anxiety related symptoms due to COVID-19. Teresa Faulkner, LCSW leads the group and offers education about what anxiety is, social support, coping strategies and cognitive-behavior techniques to deal with your anxiety. Group sessions are covered by Medicare, Medicaid, and most Commercial insurances. Patients will still be responsible for copay/coinsurance as applicable.
Substance Group Sessions
Substance group sessions are open to all SICHC patients that struggle with any substance use issue. The group is based off the evidence-based Matrix Model which is used to treat addiction and prevent relapse. These online sessions exist to provide basic education, social support, and relapse prevention in a group format. Participation is based on level of comfort. You can quietly listen, turn your camera off, or be an active participant. Substance abuse group sessions with Teresa Faulkner, LCSW are every Tuesday at 12pm. Sherrie Anderson, LSW leads groups on Thursdays at 5pm and Fridays at 8am.
